Our Mission

At our Nursery, Full Day Universal Pre-K, and 3K programs, as well as our After-school and Summer Camp offerings, our mission is to foster children’s development of social skills that will benefit them throughout life.

Enrollment at our program sites is limited by capacity and number of certified teachers and assistants; each site employs a team of qualified individuals who must attend training and orientation for every new school year to maintain an adult-to-child ratio of one:15.

At The Learning Tree program, we recognize that children’s behavior is an expression of their inner world, and family relationships are an integral component of life. Therefore, the staff of The Learning Tree works in close cooperation with parents/guardians to resolve discipline problems while respecting each child’s individuality. Discipline will be determined according to an assessment of structure and consistency needs in relation to behavioral standards that will apply in each class; consistent failure to adhere may result in them being removed from our program altogether.

At our center, our philosophy is that children learn best when actively engaged through various hands-on experiences provided by staff members and created through hands-on experiences designed and guided by them. Children thrive best with small teacher/child ratios; therefore, we use a ‘think-through curriculum’ consisting of international planning as well as child-directed activities that set clear, individualized goals for every child in attendance.

Respect is extended to all people and cultural traditions; every child will be treated with equal dignity and respect. Each child will have access to an academic curriculum tailored specifically to their social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
