Badminton Courts

Badminton is one of the world’s most beloved racket sports, enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities–from children to Olympians! No matter one’s age or ability level, badminton provides an ideal way to stay healthy, socialize with others, improve mental agility and stamina, and get fitter! However, despite its immense popularity, most people do not possess the necessary techniques for playing badminton. With more and more people turning towards this sport every year, badminton training academies have become big business and continue to expand nationwide. These academies provide professional practical training to develop trainees into confident players. There are various advantages over self-learning, including cost savings and faster learning; plus, tracking progress and improving performance is made much more straightforward.

These academies utilize specialized equipment to train athletes in the art of badminton. Additionally, they provide various training programs tailored specifically to individual player needs, for example, training athletes to maximize natural power by strengthening wrist flexors. Furthermore, their programs aim to manage anaerobic energy stress through consistent rallies as well as restore creatine phosphate levels, making these institutions invaluable resources in creating badminton players.

SSP was developed, implemented, and evaluated under unprecedented circumstances; many clubs faced severe financial issues that threatened collapse, so each case-by-case program needed to balance competing priorities and stakeholder groups while satisfying the broader sports system’s needs.

SSP evaluations involved both quantitative and qualitative interviews. Interviews were typically conducted via phone or video and focused on assessing the broader impact of the program, its knock-on effects, and positive externalities that might arise from SSP, along with providing more evidence of these effects and externalities that might result from it. Interviews were supplemented by focus group discussions held after each case study with stakeholders from all aspects of the sports sector represented, as well as critical informants identified through snowball techniques.

Event Venue

The event venue, located at the core of campus, features high school regulation basketball courts, turf training fields, a performance center, meeting rooms, and full-service concessions. In addition, this venue hosts tournaments and showcases such as the Adidas Gauntlet Summer Basketball Championships, UA Gulf South NCAA DII Volleyball Crossover Event, Perfect Game College Baseball Tournaments and Showcases, and Shock Doctor 7on7 Football Legends Showcases.

Students will complete their research experiences under the mentorship of lab mentors in labs at NYU, then present their findings at a concluding colloquium attended by NYU faculty and graduate students, ARISE participants, as well as invited academic experts and guests.
