All Star Learning Center

All-Star Learning Center provides one-to-one tutoring to low-income communities to overcome barriers to learning. Tutors work closely with their students for months or years, forging meaningful partnerships that transform children’s lives positively. Many programs offered at All-Star are accessible to those eligible for school meals.

Tutoring

Tutoring services are available to all students regardless of primary or academic level. At the Center, peer-to-peer tutoring, academic support, and a quiet place to complete assignments are free; readings, lecture notes, and projects should also be brought along to maximize tutoring effectiveness.

The STAR program provides underserved communities with tutoring for all subjects through one-to-one tuition, matching each student with a tutor who writes weekly reports to track their progress and report their successes and setbacks. Many tutors work closely with one student for months or years, forming close bonds that can transform grades while building confidence as learners. Students qualify for tutoring through STAR based on family income and grade levels.

STAR-NY offers in-person and online tutoring to all students through its consortium of 25 SUNY colleges. Sessions run Sunday through Thursday evenings; tutors can be scheduled anytime. Daycare

Daycare services assist parents and guardians by caring for children too young to be left alone or school-age kids who require before and after-school care. These services are tailored to meet the needs of various families, providing childcare in multiple environments.

Daycare services provide an environment that fosters social skills development in an engaging, safe, and nurturing atmosphere. Teachers engage students in play-based educational activities to meet milestones and facilitate learning, encouraging children’s social, cognitive, sensory, and imaginative development.

Children with solid mental health foundations can deal with stress and problems, have positive attitudes about school, participate more enthusiastically in class activities, and perform better academically than their counterparts with less healthy mental states.

Childcare centers utilize unique sports curricula to foster positive mental well-being in their students and teach integrity and moral character development through fun sports-themed events.

Preschool

All-Star Learning Center is a full-service preschool and childcare facility with an ideal teacher-to-child ratio and offers both entire- and part-time schedules. Their curriculum follows the Creative Curriculum to teach children developmentally appropriate lessons; teachers are CPR/first aid certified and hold regular parties/celebrations that combine fun with education!

At All Star Learning Center, staff members must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in education or related field and fulfill state training requirements for employment. Furthermore, they must be able to perform administrative/financial management functions and program supervision duties while interacting positively with children to provide a safe environment.
