After March 1st, 2023, Harvard Pilgrim commercial and Medicare Advantage members who request genetic/genomic testing or other medical necessity prior authorizations from Carelon Medical Benefits Management will change to Carelon Medical Benefits Management as their utilization review services provider; this change only impacts their name but will have no ramifications on provider relationships.

Over time and according to regularly scheduled content update cycles, all documents and websites currently referencing AIM will reflect this transition; there will be no impact on prior authorization reviews nor changes to provider contact information or process.

This proactive outreach tool helps members select high-quality and cost-effective providers through personalized provider lists explicitly tailored for them; additionally, it offers information about pricing and availability for various procedures and services in their locality. Incoming call center numbers will remain the same. At the same time, references to AIM in recorded scripts will be altered accordingly and automatically redirected to Carelon Medical Benefits Management services via provider portal links formerly accessible via AIM. Furthermore, accessing BCBSTX utilization management services via AIM was no longer accessible as of September 8, 2014.
